In the Shadow of Starlight Mission Summary

With the help of Typhon and Tannis, you must use the Vault Keys to activate The Machine and stop The Great Vault from opening and releasing The Destroyer. The fate of the universe is at great stake. You can tell because of all the capital letters.

  • Return to the Sanctuary
  • Go to Tannis’ lab
  • Place the Nekrotafeyo Vault Key
  • Take the Nekrotafeyo Vault Key
  • Return to Desolation’s Edge
  • Go to the Pyre of Stars Gate
  • Place the Vault Key
  • Enter the Pyre of Stars
  • Give the Pandora Vault Key to Tannis
  • Follow Typhon
  • Use the Promethea Pedestal
  • Use the Switch
  • Follow Typhon
  • Use the Eden-6 pedestal

In the Shadow of Starlight Walkthrough

Return to the Sanctuary & Go to Tannis’ lab

Make your way back to the Sanctuary and speak to Tannis in her lab.

Place the Nekrotafeyo Vault Key

Place the Nekrotafeyo Vault Key into the required spot and watch as Tannis and Ava activate the key with their siren abilities.

Take the Nekrotafeyo Vault Key & Return to Desolation’s Edge

Once the key is activated, take the key and return to Desolation’s Edge.

Go to the Pyre of Stars Gate & Place the Vault Key

Go to the Pyre of Stars gate and place the final vault key into the pedestal.

Enter the Pyre of Stars

Follow Tannis and Typhon along the path that just appeared and enter the Pyre of Stars.

Give the Pandora Vault Key to Tannis

Once you reach the room with the pedestal, give Tannis the Key.

Follow Typhon

Follow Typhon throughout the Pyre of Stars area to each of the different pedestals. Along the way you’ll encounter plenty of COV and Guardians.

Use the Promethea Pedestal

Secure the area and place the Vault Key into the Promethea pedestal. Follow Typhon once again to the next pedestal.

Use the Switch

Once you reach the location of the switch, press the button and climb up the staircase.

Follow Typhon

Follow Typhon and use the elevator to travel up to the next level.

Use the Eden-6 pedestal

Once at the top, place the Vault Key into the Eden-6 Pedestal.

Follow Typhon

Continue to follow Typhon until you reach yet another set of switches.

Use the Switch

Press the switch at the same time as Typhon to unlock the door.

Follow Typhon

Follow Typhon through the incoming waves of COV and Guardians until you reach the Nekrotafeyo pedestal.

Use the Nekrotafeyo Pedestal

You will need to defeat all the enemies in the area before you can place the final Vault Key into the Pedestal.

Go to Tannis

Make your way through the newly opened door and head back to Tannis.

Protect Tannis

While trying to close the Vault, Tyreen will begin spawning waves of COV and anointed enemies into the area. Take them out and protect Tannis from any incoming attacks.

Once all enemies have been defeated, the mission will end.
