Gearbox has revealed the first details for Bloody Harvest, the first limited-time event for Borderlands 3 since the game was released. As the name implies, Bloody Harvest is a spooky event complete with new enemies, areas, and, of course, gear.During The Borderlands Show, Gearbox’s new monthly web show for Borderlands news, Borderlands 3 creative director Paul Sage revealed the first look at Bloody Harvest. The Halloween-themed event will be released next month and is the first of several free, limited-time events coming to the game. So anybody with a copy of Borderlands 3 can look forward to getting spooked.
Bloody Harvest begins once players start exploring the outer sections of the universe. There will be Haunted enemies appearing in various locations. These enemies have a new Terror debuff that will mess with your character’s vision, gun handling, accuracy, and spread.
Defeating these enemies will earn you a new limited-time currency called “Hecktoplasm” which you can give to Maurice, a new NPC aboard the Sanctuary 3. Eventually, you’ll gain access to the Bloody Harvest map.
The Bloody Harvest event will also include a new boss battle with Captain Haunt as the Baron of Bloody Harvest. If Captain Haunt looks familiar to you, that’s because he’s the undead reanimation of Captain Traunt, the Maliwan heavy soldier from the main storyline.
Gearbox is promising several limited-time rewards players can earn during the event. There will be an: ECHO Device Skin, a Weapon Trinket, a skin for each Vault Hunter plus Moze’s mech and Fl4k’s pets, and a Global Weapon skin. There will also be two new guns and a shield and Anointed loot with Terror-based modifiers.
Bloody Harvest will be released for Borderlands 3 in October. Furthermore, Gearbox announced that Borderlands 2 VR will be released on October 22. Check out our Borderlands 3 review here and our Borderlands 3 wiki for our full coverage. You can also watch our Borderlands 3 video review above.
