Building upon the concept of Badass Ranks, which were first introduced during Borderlands 2, Gearbox has doubled down and created a brand new post-cap progression system known as Guardian Ranks.

The all new infinite progression system is not only used to improve your stats, but also to obtain new skills, and different skins. Gearbox has also made it clear that every character that you manage to play on your account will receive the full benefit of the Guardian Rank.

While Guardian Ranks are not locked behind the level cap of 50, players will need to have completed the story mode in order to unlock the new infinite progression system.
